Servings: 8 Portions

INGREDIENTS

2 Liters water
8 black tea bags
450g (1 pint) fresh blueberries

1 cup maple syrup
3 tbsp water
3 tsp fresh lime juice

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Brew the Black Tea
In a medium pot, bring the 2 liters of water to a boil. Turn off the heat and remove the pot from the stove. Add the black tea bags and let them steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool.

2. Make the Blueberry Maple Syrup
In a small pot, combine the blueberries, maple syrup, and 3 tablespoons of water. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until it begins to gently boil. Mash the berries with a spoon, or carefully pulse them with an immersion blender. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces and thickens into a rich syrup. Let it cool for a bit, then stir in the fresh lime juice.

3. Assemble and Serve
To make a single serving, add 2 tablespoons of the blueberry syrup to a glass (250ml) and top with the brewed black tea. If you are making a pitcher, scale up accordingly! Add ice cubes or place the drinks in the fridge for 30 minutes to get perfectly chilled. Taste and adjust the amount of syrup as needed.

Serving Suggestion
This refreshing iced tea is the ultimate thirst-quencher for a hot afternoon. Serve it in a large glass pitcher loaded with ice cubes, a few whole blueberries, and lime wedges for a beautiful presentation. It’s the perfect make-ahead beverage for backyard BBQs, summer picnics, or simply lounging on the porch. Enjoy!
