INGREDIENTS
1 bottle (750ml) red wine
40ml orange liqueur (e.g., Grand Marnier)
100g cranberries, roughly chopped
4 clementines or 2 oranges (about 300g), sliced
120g maple syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cloves
2 star anise pods
2 cardamom pods
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine Base Ingredients:
In a medium-sized pot, pour the red wine, orange liqueur, and maple syrup. Stir gently to combine.
Add Fruits and Spices:
Add the cranberries, clementine slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and cardamom pods to the pot.
Simmer Gently:
Heat the mixture over low heat. Allow it to simmer (do not boil) for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the flavors meld beautifully.
Serve Hot:
Strain the mulled wine into mugs or heatproof glasses. Garnish with a slice of clementine, a few cranberries, and a cinnamon stick for an extra festive touch, if desired.
